MONTVERDE, Fla. (September 24, 2025) – Montverde Academy has announced the 2025-26 girls weightlifting schedule, highlighted by a strong lineup of dual meets, an invitational appearance, and postseason championship opportunities.

The 2025-26 edition of the girls weightlifting team will open its season on Wednesday, October 29 at 4 p.m., when the Eagles host The First Academy in the Nest. MVA will also host a second home dual on December 10 against Faith Christian.

Road competition includes dual meets at Trinity Prep on November 5, Foundation Academy on November 12 and Windermere Prep on January 14. The Eagles are also scheduled to compete at the Buffalo Invitational hosted by The Villages Charter School on Thursday November 20.

Postseason competition will begin with the FHSAA district and regional championships in late January (exact dates and sites to be announced). The season will culminate at the FHSAA State Championships, set to take place sometime between February 11–13 (exact dates to be announced) at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.

The 2025-26 campaign follows a historic year for the Eagles, who posted a program-best second-place overall finish in the Olympic discipline at the district championship. The Eagles had two individual district champions last year when expected returnee Gabby Joseph won in the Olympic discipline in the Unlimited weight class, and expected returnee Elena Friedman won in the Traditional discipline in the 154 pound weight class.
