The Montverde Academy girls volleyball team finished a challenging weekend on a winning note at the Bishop Moore Swing for the Cure tournament at Game Points Event Center in Orlando.
Facing some of Florida's toughest competition, the Eagles dropped all three pool play matches, including a closely contested battle that pushed Calvary Christian, the state's No. 1-ranked team, to the brink. MVA then fell in its first bracket match before earning a victory in its final match of the weekend against Lake Minneola High School.
Now 9-11, the Eagles conclude the 2026 regular season this week, hosting Horizon on Tuesday, October 6, before visiting Windermere High School on Wednesday, October 7.
The FHSAA district tournament begins Monday, October 12, with MVA pursuing its third consecutive district championship.
