Montverde Academy boys lacrosse picked up an impressive road win Wednesday evening, defeating Hagerty High School 16-4 to improve to 2-3 on the season.
The Eagles' offense was firing on all cylinders, led by a pair of standout performances. Tanner Moore and Gavin Ionelli each scored five goals to pace the attack. Blake Kuhn added three goals, while Evan Flanagan contributed two goals and Reid Pawless added one to round out the scoring.
Flanagan impacted the game in multiple phases, finishing with two goals, six groundballs, and winning 11 of 14 faceoffs to help control possession throughout the night. Moore not only tallied five goals but also collected five groundballs. Kuhn added three goals and three groundballs, while Nate Diaz led the team with eight groundballs.
Defensively, Montverde Academy limited Hagerty to just four goals, and Angelo Ranaldi made three saves in the win.
Montverde Academy returns to action this Friday with a road matchup at Cardinal Newman scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
