2026 MAIST: Day Two Results (2/27/26)

Game 5: Foundation Academy over JJ Pearce 11-1 (6 innings)

On the first game of day two, Foundation Academy defeated JJ Pearce 11-1 via the 10-run rule.

Foundation Academy scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first and another in the bottom of the second to lead 3-0 after two innings.

JJ Pearce scored its lone run of the game in the top of the fourth to make the score 3-1.

But Foundation Academy scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to extend the lead before scoring five more in the bottom of the sixth to take a 10-run lead to end the game early.

Foundation Academy was led offensively by Riley Winters who was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a run batted in. Reagan Schrimer went 2-for-4 with a double, three runs and a run batted in.

For JJ Pearce, Teagan Fox had a hit and a run batted in, while Lexie Landers and Jenny Belle Wilson had one hit each.

In the circle, Schrimer earned the win for Foundation, going 3.2 innings, allowing a run on four hits with four strikeouts. Landers suffered the loss for JJ Pearce after going 5.1 innings and allowing 11 runs (eight earned) on eight hits.

Game 6: IMG Academy over Episcopal 14-1 (5 innings)

IMG Academy earned its second run-rule win of the tournament after defeating Episcopal 14-1 in five innings.

After a scoreless first inning, the Ascenders scored four runs in the top of the second and another two in the third to lead 6-0. The Eagles scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the third to make the score 6-1 after three innings. But IMG Academy brought home another seven runs in the top of the fourth to make the score 13-1 and put the game out of reach.

IMG Academy was led by Milan LaGron who was 3-for-4 and scored three times. Brecka Malask went 2-for-3 with three runs and three runs batted in, while Amari Adams was 2-for-2 with two runs and two runs batted in.
La'Breah Sands earned the win in the circle for IMG Academy, allowing one run (unearned) on one hit with 10 strikeouts.

Riley Valent suffered the loss after pitching 4.0 innings and allowing seven runs (two earned) on six hits with four strikeouts.
 

Game 7: Middleburg over Fort Myers 1-0

In the third game of the day, Middleburg scored a run in the top of the second inning and it proved to be all it would need as the Broncos defeated Fort Myers 1-0.

A bases-loaded walk by Daisy Hendry forced home Jocelyn Kenirey for the game's only run in what was otherwise a pitcher's duel.

Both pitchers went the distance. Cloey Ballinger pitched 7.0 innings and allowed no runs on seven hits and one strikeout to earn the win for Middleburg. Meanwhile, Fort Myers starter, Lolly Lane pitched brilliantly as well going 7.0 innings and allowing one run on four hits and nine strikeouts.

Four players had one hit each for Middleburg and seven different players had one hit each for Fort Myers in the contest.

Game 8: Montverde Academy over Winter Springs 6-3

In the final game of day two, Montverde Academy earned a 6-3 win over Winter Springs.

The host Eagles trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth until Addie Poe belted a grand slam to put the Eagles ahead en route to the win.

The game was scoreless through the first three innings, until an unearned run by Winter Springs put the Bears ahead. Montverde Academy knotted the score in the bottom half of the inning.

Montverde Academy took the lead after a run in the bottom of the fifth to make the score 2-1. But Winter Springs went back on top on a two-run homer by Tiffany Seemann.

But the Eagles went back on top for good after Poe's grand slam.

For the game, Poe was 2-for-4 with the home run and four runs batted in. Fellow teammate Elena Friedman went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs. Audrey Vivino and Andrea Gomez also had two hits each for Montverde Academy.

Seeman went 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs batted in, while Adison Pierce scored two runs for the Bears.

Nevaeh Williams earned the win, going 7.0 innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and nine strikeouts.

Madison Barahona suffered the loss in relief, going 0.2 innings and allowing three runs on three hits.
