The Montverde Academy boys lacrosse team opened its 2026 season in strong fashion, earning an 11-5 victory at home over Foundation Academy on Monday evening.
Gavin Ionelli led the Eagles offensively, scoring a game-high five goals to pace Montverde Academy. Tanner Moore followed with a strong all-around performance, recording three goals and two assists, while also collecting four groundballs. Nate Kuhn added two goals in the win, and Blake Kuhn contributed three assists to help fuel the Eagles' attack.
Defensively, Montverde Academy was anchored by goalie Angelo Ranaldi, who turned in an impressive outing with 13 saves to limit Foundation Academy's scoring opportunities.
Montverde Academy controlled the tempo throughout the contest, combining efficient offense with solid defense to secure the season-opening win.
The Eagles return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Lake Brantley High School for a 6:00 p.m. matchup.
