The Montverde Academy boys lacrosse team came up just short on Thursday evening, falling 13-12 on the road to Lake Highland Prep.
The Eagles battled throughout the contest in a tightly contested matchup that saw MVA remain within striking distance until the final moments.
Offensively, MVAÂ was led by Blake Kuhn, who scored three goals and added six groundballs to pace the Eagles. Tanner Moore, Reid Pawless, and Gavin Ionelli each added two goals, while Evan Flanagan, Nate Kuhn, and Nate Diaz also found the back of the net.
Flanagan made a significant impact across the field, scoring once while collecting a team-high nine groundballs and dominating at the faceoff position with 19 wins.
MVA will look to bounce back in its next contest on Tuesday, March 24, when the Eagles travel to face Bishop Moore. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
