The Montverde Academy girls track & field team turned in a championship performance this weekend, winning the Florida State Relays on the campus of Florida State University in Tallahassee.

Competing against a loaded field of elite programs, the Eagles captured the team title by finishing 1st out of 70 teams, while the boys team delivered a strong showing with a 20th-place finish out of 69 teams.

4x800 Relay Leads Championship Effort

Montverde Academy's biggest moment of the meet came in the girls 4x800-meter relay, where the team of Amaris Munya, Alafair Scelfo, Lyla McMillen and Angelica Wolfe claimed the event title with a time of 9:23.93.

The victory provided crucial points toward the team championship and highlighted Montverde's strength in the distance events.
