The Montverde Academy girls beach volleyball team has earned the No. 1 seed for the 2026 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 1A Region 2 Championship, extending a dominant postseason run after capturing its third consecutive district title.
The Eagles (14-0) will open regional play at home on Monday, April 27 at 4:00 p.m., hosting No. 8 seed Foundation Academy in the regional quarterfinal round at the Montverde Academy Beach Volleyball Complex.
If MVA advances, the Eagles would remain at home for the semifinal round on Thursday, April 30 at 4:00 p.m., where they would face the winner of No. 4 seed Orangewood Christian and Bell Creek.
A victory in the semifinals would send MVAÂ into the regional championship match on Tuesday, May 5, where they would compete for a spot in the FHSAA State Championship. Potential opponents in the final include No. 2 seed Tampa Prep, No. 3 seed The First Academy, No. 6 seed Geneva, or No. 7 seed Brevard HEAT. Regardless of the opponent, MVA will host due to its No. 1 seed status in tournament.
The winner of the regional championship will advance to the FHSAA State Semifinal round, held at Florida State University in Tallahassee on Friday, May 8. The semifinal winner will move on to compete for the state championship on Saturday, May 9.
The Eagles enter postseason play unbeaten at 14-0, continuing a remarkable stretch that includes a district championship three-peat and four district titles in the past five seasons.
With momentum, depth, and home-sand advantage on their side, the Eagles now turn their focus to the regional stage with its sights firmly set on a state championship berth.
