Montverde, Fla. (April 7, 2026) – Senior boys basketball player Dhani Miller has been named Student-Athlete of the Week for the third time this year after delivering a remarkable three-game stretch at the 2026 Chipotle High School National Tournament in Fishers, Indiana over the weekend.
With the season on the line and the national spotlight at its brightest, Miller rose to the moment—leading Montverde Academy with elite performances in each round and earning All-Tournament Team honors.
Miller poured in a team-high 27 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists in a thrilling 57-55 win over Prolific Prep in the quarterfinals on Thursday. His impact was felt until the final second, when he delivered a long bounce pass to ignite a fast break that resulted in a buzzer-beating game-winning dunk, sealing one of the most dramatic victories of the season.
He followed that up with another clutch performance in the semifinals Friday, scoring 17 points and grabbing a team-high nine rebounds in a 68-67 double-overtime win over top-seeded AZ Compass. With MVA trailing by two possessions twice in the first overtime, He delivered in the biggest moments—knocking down back-to-back continuation three-point plays to swing momentum and keep the Eagles' championship hopes alive.
In the national championship game, Miller scored a team-high 24 points, while adding five rebounds and three assists.
Over the course of the tournament, Miller never came off the floor—showcasing his endurance, leadership, and determination on the biggest stage in high school basketball.
His efforts not only powered MVA to a runner-up finish, but it also cemented his legacy as one of the program's most impactful players.
Miller's performance at Nationals was a fitting finale to a stellar senior season. He led the Eagles in scoring (15.8 points per game) and steals (1.5 per game), while ranking second on the team in rebounds (6.2 per game) and assists (3.8 per game).
A lifelong Eagle, Miller has been a part of the MVA community since pre-kindergarten and a member of the boys' national basketball team since ninth grade. After seeing limited minutes early in his career, he steadily developed into one of the nation's premier players, culminating in a senior season defined by leadership, consistency, growth and clutch performances.
Miller will continue his basketball journey at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, where he will make a massive impact on the Golden Flashes.
