Montverde Academy boys weightlifting team member Rimon Du represented the Eagles at the 2026 FHSAA Class 1A Boys Weightlifting State Championship on Friday at the RP Funding Center.

Competing in the Olympic discipline in the 219-pound weight class, Du finished 15th out of 20 lifters with a combined total of 430 pounds. He recorded a 185-pound snatch and a 245-pound clean & jerk during the competition.

With Du's appearance at the state meet, Montverde Academy boys weightlifting has now been represented at the FHSAA state championship for the third consecutive year and for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
