Three members of the Montverde Academy track and field family showcased their talents against some of the nation's best athletes this past weekend at the prestigious Brooks PR Invitational, one of the premier high school track and field events in the country.

The invite-only competition features many of the top-ranked athletes in the United States, with each event field limited to a select group of elite competitors.

MVA had three athletes compete, including recent graduates Miles Outerbridge ('26) and Nakira Hudson ('26), along with rising ninth grader Angelica Wolfe.

Miles led the way with a podium finish in the boys 100-meter dash. The University of Houston commit sprinted to a third-place finish with a time of 10.69 seconds, competing against one of the fastest fields assembled this season.

Hudson ('26), placed sixth in the girls 400-meter dash with a time of 54.84 seconds. Hudson, who will continue her academic and athletic career at the University of South Carolina, had an amazing senior year which was capped off by her gold medal performance in the FHSAA state championship in the 400 meters last month.

Rising ninth grader Wolfe, representing the next generation of Eagle track and field stars, competed in the girls Junior Elite 800-meter run and finished10th overall in a talented field with a time of 2:20.45.

To qualify for the Brooks PR Invitational is an accomplishment in itself, as invitations are reserved exclusively for athletes who rank among the nation's best in their respective events. MVA was one of only a select number of programs represented by multiple athletes at the nationally celebrated meet.

Congratulations to Miles, Nakira, and Angelica on an incredible weekend and for representing MVA on one of the sport's biggest stages.
