Montverde Academy II earned its first UPSL victory of the season with a 3–0 shutout win over Golden Goal Soccer on Saturday afternoon at Dan Newlin Injury Attorney Stadium.

Antonio Amado led the scoring for MVA II, opening the match with an unassisted goal in the 10th minute. Amado added his second goal of the afternoon in the 70th minute, with Elias Chahim providing the assist to double Montverde Academy II's lead.

Rapolas Pikelis added a third goal in the 88th minute, assisted by Shihab Juman, to round out the scoring and secure the shutout victory.

Goalkeepers Dax Pierce and Gavin Karnes combined for six saves to keep Golden Goal Soccer off the scoreboard. Pierce made five saves, while Karnes added one save in the win.

With the victory, MVA II improves to 1–1 on the season. Montverde Academy II returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 19, with a road matchup against Emerald FC II at Bishop Moore Catholic School. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
