Montverde Academy I opened its UPSL season with a 4–0 victory over Stetson FA on Saturday afternoon at Rinker Field at Stetson University.

The match was briefly interrupted by a lightning delay approximately 25 minutes into the contest before play resumed.

The Eagles opened the scoring in the 31st minute when Kwasi Agyri converted a penalty kick to give MVA I a 1–0 lead.

MVA I doubled its advantage when Gaku Ueda found the back of the net with a header, with Felipe Bueno providing the assist to make it 2–0.

Montverde continued to apply pressure in the second half, adding two more goals to secure the shutout. In the 65th minute, Peter Baah scored to extend the lead to 3–0, with Jude Antwi recording the assist.

Hassan Akhonya capped off the scoring in the 80th minute, finding the back of the net to give MVA I a 4–0 victory.

Goalkeepers Joaquim Miranda and Gavin Karnes each played 45 minutes in the shutout. Their strong performances, along with a solid effort from Montverde's backline, helped MVA I keep Stetson FA off the scoreboard.

With the victory, MVA I opens the UPSL season 1–0. Montverde Academy I returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 19, when they host Brevard SC at Dan Newlin Injury Attorney Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at Montverde Academy.
