Montverde Academy boys golf earned a statement win Thursday, defeating The First Academy, the No. 2 ranked team in Florida Class 1A, 150–157 at Orange Tree Golf Course.

Gusty winds made scoring difficult, but the Eagles put together four rounds of 38 or better. Michael Frasure and Ryo Arakawa shared team low honors with 37s (+1), while Ethan Press and Alejandro Uribe each shot 38 (+2) to complete MVA's team score. Terence McAuley added a 41 (+5).

The seven stroke victory gave Montverde Academy a win over one of the state's top ranked teams.
