Brooks Sweet

Brooks has worked since 2008 at Poly Prep Country Day School, a nationally known academic powerhouse in Brooklyn, NY. Brooks coached a variety of sports at Poly Prep (soccer, football, golf, swimming, track to name a few), but his biggest impact was on the lacrosse program in which he won a state championship during his tenure there.

Brooks has had a significant impact on the lacrosse world. He was a player for the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and it is not much of an exaggeration to say that he was the best player during his time in the world, winning the title of "Player of the World" with his 7 goals to help the USA defeat Australia in the final gold medal game of the 1982 World Lacrosse Games.

Brooks was one of the pioneers of STX Lacrosse and he generated approximately $2 million in sales annually for the company from 1988-2007. He also served as Boston College's Head Lacrosse Coach from 1982-1986. Accolades for Brooks are numerous, but a few of the highlights include Hall of Fame inductions in National US Lacrosse, University of Massachusetts, New England Lacrosse and at his alma mater, Ithaca High School. He was Ivy League (high school) Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2016, All-American at UMASS and was the team captain for the Baltimore Thunder of the Pro Indoor Lacrosse League from 1988-1992.
