Christian Figueroa-Lindor

As cousin and off-season training partner to MVA Alumni Francisco Lindor, Christian Figueroa is very familiar with Montverde. Christian Figueroa graduated from the first class of Puerto Rico Baseball Academy and high school, and attended New Mexico Junior College where he played in the 2007 Junior College World Series in Gran Junction Colorado. After junior college he went to West Texas A&M where he finished college baseball. He played semi pro baseball in Puerto Rico and then professional baseball in the American Association League with the Amarillo Sox club team in 2014 season.

Christian brings a wide range of contributions to the MVA baseball program. Christian has the ability to work with our infielders and hitters with a professional approach while also sharing the little secrets that make playing the game that much easier. Christian has a very high baseball IQ in several areas of the game as he was a switch hitter with smooth hands and great baseball instincts when he was playing.

Due to a major injury Christian had his dream of playing professional baseball cut short.  Recovering from a dream career cut short due to injury, and moving on to teaching that gift to others without getting frustrated is a very hard thing.  Especially when players don't take the same pride and respect for the game that they had.  It makes it very hard for many athletes after such injuries to truly give that knowledge to others with all their heart.

In Christians case not only does he want to teach how to play the game correctly with hard work and perfect repetitions. He wants to teach the ups and downs that come with playing the game. All the other things that truly go into becoming a great player. Christian, even though having his career not take the path many great athletes dream of, has become a great instructor and mentor for all our players.

Don't be surprised when you see Christian out taking ground balls with Fransisco - or any of the other professional players that train here - during the off season, as he has the ability to teach, and he still has that competitiveness to get out and prove he still has a great glove.
