Prior to Montverde Academt, Brown served as assistant coach at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando from 2021–25, where he helped guide the Panthers to three consecutive Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) 7A girls basketball state championships (2022, 2023, 2024) and a state championship game appearance in 2025. Prior to that, he coached at Woodbridge Senior High School in Virginia from 2011–17.
A native of Orlando, Brown played high school basketball at Dr. Phillips High School (1987–91) before playing college basketball at Santa Fe College in Gainesville (1994–1996), where he helped the Saints men's basketball program to its best record in program history at the time.
Currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Event Management at Johnson & Wales University, Brown expects to complete his degree in 2026. He is also actively involved with multiple basketball organizations and events, including the HBCU & High School Dream Classic, Premier Tournament Group, Travel Basketball Association, Big Time Hoops, and Network Basketball.

He and his wife, Yolanda reside in Apopka, Florida, with their two children, Samoane and Samaury.
Outside of basketball, Brown enjoys cooking, football, and a friendly game of cornhole. He is known for his unmatched energy, self-motivation, and high expectations.
