Four runs batted in from Roberto Thelusma helped lead Montverde Academy past Mount Dora High School 12-1 on Thursday.  Thelusma drove in runs on a double in the first and a double in the sixth.

An early lead helped propel the Eagles to victory.  Montverde Academy scored on an error, a double by Roberto Thelusma, and a groundout by Joseph Silvestri in the first inning.

Montverde Academy scored four runs in the third inning. The Eagles scored on a double by Johann Campines and a single by Jordan Chen.

Daniel Lopez earned the win for Montverde Academy. He tossed  four innings, giving up zero runs, two hits, and striking out six.  Campines threw one inning, as two relievers helped Montverde finish off the victory.  Campines recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Montverde. Jacob Maddox took the loss for Mount Dora High School. He pitched one and one-third innings, surrendering five runs, four hits, striking out two, and walking one.

Montverde Academy collected 12 hits. Thelusma, Chen, and Campines each collected multiple hits for Montverde Academy.
