Former Montverde Academy basketball standout, Roger Moute a Bidias, was named the University of California-Berkley Athletic Study Center (ASC) Scholar-Athlete of the week for the week of April 17th-21st.
The release states:
"[Roger Moute a Bidias] is recognized for generating an academic journey that encompasses both personal and professional interests with a dedication to the craft of research and networking. Roger is driven by strategic mindfulness via collaboration with resourceful staff, prolific faculty, and external entrepreneurs. Having tremendous intellectual curiosity, he welcomes complicated conversations with an eye on appreciating perspectives. His passion for learning has granted him access to a variety of meaningful and rigorous courses all of which will serve him eminently in the real world."
The ASC Scholar-Athlete of the Week program was created to celebrate the academic development and achievements of our student athletes by staff.
"We are very proud of Roger and acknowledge the role Montverde has played in preparing him both academically and athletically," California-Berkley Transition & Development Coordinator Kasra Soutudeh said.
Moute a Bidias plays basketball for the Golden Bears and is the younger brother of Luc Mbah a Moute, who is a Montverde Academy alumnus.Â
