Twenty-eight of the best high school senior basketball players were announced earlier in the month to play in the 19th Jordan Brand Classic, which will be played in the Wintrust Arena in Chicago for the first time. The double-header will be held on Friday, March 27 with the girls game tipping off at 6:00 p.m., followed by the boys game at 8:00 p.m. CST.
The 2020 Jordan Brand Classic will be headlined by three Montverde Academy student-athletes Oklahoma State commit Cade Cunningham, University of North Carolina commit Day'Ron Sharpe, and Florida State commit Scottie Barnes.
Among the 28 male athletes are MaxPreps Player of the Year candidates Jalen Green, Cade Cunningham, and Scottie Barnes. MVA is the only team to have three athletes from the same roster to compete in the event and is the only high school to have three All-Americans competing. The players will have an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of former Jordan Brand superstars like Carmelo Anthony, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, LeBron James, Chris Paul, Jayson Tatum, and Zion Williamson. This year, the event is expecting to host several first-round NBA Draft prospects and will showcase the future of basketball talent.
