Montverde International Futbol Club got the fall sports season off to an incredible start this month. MIFC outscored opponents 12 to one across two games in the Sunshine Conference this weekend.
The MIFC U19 team thumped their opponent 10-0 in Auburndale, while the U18s edged out their opponent 2-1 in a hard-fought victory.
"I thought it was a great start to the year for both our teams, considering we haven't really trained much together as an entire group," said MIFC Director Robbie Aristodemo.
Returning Montverde Academy student-athlete Isabella Flanigan and newcomer Mia Asenjo helped propel the U19 team to their staggering victory. For the U18 team, Lindi Petty provided offensive firepower while goalkeeper Kristina Duvnjak turned in an impressive five saves to preserve the 2-1 score line.
"Our goal is to continue to prepare daily so we are ready for the weekend games," said Aristodemo.
