After another hard-fought victory in the National Interscholastic Basketball Conference Championship on Friday, the Montverde Academy boys basketball team ends the regular season ranked No. 1 with a record of 20-1.

Coach Kevin Boyle's team was victorious by a score of 61-57 in the NIBC final, regaining its advantage over the Sunrise Christian Academy team that ended the Academy's 40-game win streak in early February.

Junior student-athlete Dariq Whitehead led the game in scoring with 18 points in his highest-scoring game of the season.
