Recently, through Montverde Academy's Soar to Success program, student-athletes participated in The Money Game, an interactive financial literacy experience facilitated by Advance NIL.

Rather than attending a traditional presentation, students moved through stations that focused on real-world financial decisions. Each station included a game or activity led by Montverde Academy faculty and staff volunteers.

The stations focused on:

• Philanthropy and community service

• Random life events

• NIL opportunities

• Saving and investing

• Family and friends

• Personal care and grooming

• Vacation

• Personal loans and bank flow

• Entertainment

• Wardrobe

Through each activity, student-athletes considered how financial decisions can affect their goals, relationships and future plans. They also had the opportunity to respond to unexpected situations and learn from the outcomes.

Financial literacy is an important part of student-athlete development. As students prepare for college and future opportunities, they may be responsible for managing scholarships, NIL opportunities, personal expenses, and other financial decisions. The Money Game provided a practical way for MVA student-athletes to build those skills in an interactive setting.

The Soar to Success program helps prepare Montverde Academy student-athletes for the responsibilities they will face beyond competition, including college, careers and life after athletics.
