The Montverde Aquatic Club had an incredibly successful weekend at the ISCA International Cup event in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Freshman all-star Emily Santos again placed first in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 33"25. This number was a new school record and is good for a No. 1 ranking in the US in the 15-year-old age group.
Santos also took home first place in the 100 breaststroke, with another MVA record time of 1'11"94. That time was good for a new Panama national record as an adult.
Santos finished second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2'37"47, earning No. 5 in the U.S. and another new MVA record.
Junior student-athlete Kierro Stubbs also had a great meet, earning a personal best in his 200 breaststroke with 2'14"49.
"The ISCA International Cup attracted many of the best in the US and world including Olympic gold medalists Caleb Dressel, Ryan Lochte, Jack Conger, and Joseph Schooling," said MvAC Director Gui Ferreira. "It was a big challenge to our swimmers. I am pleased with the way our swimmers reacted to this exposure. Today we are back in training working towards the GTSA Championship, Dominican Republic International and the UANA International, which we are co-hosting"
