Congratulations to MVA's very own Jalen Hood-Schifino, who announced his commitment to Indiana University on CBS Sports this afternoon!

Indiana won a high-stakes recruiting battle on Tuesday as four-star combo guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, the No. 23 player in the 247Sports Composite rankings for the Class of 2022, committed to Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers. Hood-Schifino picked IU over Tennessee in a decision that aired live on CBS Sports HQ.
A Charlotte, North Carolina, native, Hood-Schifino has long been a highly-coveted prospect. In 2019, he committed to Pitt and Jeff Capel earlier and was considered a coup for the former Duke assistant, but he later reneged and decommitted from the Panthers last summer. Kansas, Indiana, Tennessee, Texas, Memphis and others entered the picture before IU and Tennessee made his final cut. He visited both schools on officials before landing on Indiana.
The commitment gives Indiana its second-highest recruit since Woodson arrived as the Hoosiers coach earlier this year behind incoming freshman and former Texas commit Tamar Bates. He is the third recruit in the 2022 cycle to pick the Hoosiers, and he elevates IU from No. 20 to No. 5 in the national rankings.
