Montverde, Fla.— Montverde Academy's defending GEICO High School national champion girls' basketball team's schedule has been official released for the 2022-23 high school basketball season.
MVA will play a host of games against highly skilled teams throughout various parts of the United States. The Eagles will play 11 action packed home games this regular season, starting with their season opener against Mainland High School on November 15. The home game against Mainland is the first of a three-game season opening homestand as MVA will then host Central Pointe Christian Academy on November 17, followed by a battle against Deltona High School on November 19.
In December, the Eagles open another three game homestand as they host Legacy Early College on December 1, followed The Webb School on December 3 before doing battle against Sarasota High School on December 7.
Home games in January include a contest against Fort Pierce High School on January 3, followed by a game with Haines City on January 10. Then after time on the road, the Eagles will close out the regular season with another three game homestand, starting with a contest against Lake Minneola on January 23, followed by Riverview High School on January 26 and Palm Bay on January 28 in the season finale.
Besides the home games, the Eagles will compete in six tournaments throughout the season, including the Inside Exposure Thanksgiving Classic on November 21 and 22 where they will face 1 of 1 Academy on day one, before competing against Duncanville the next day.
Then MVA will compete at Hoopfest in Dallas, Texas on November 25 and 26 where the Eagles will play South Grand Prairie on the first day, before playing DeSoto on the second day. Then from December 29 through 31, the Eagles will compete in the Tampa Christmas Invitational (opponents to be announced soon).
The Eagles will also compete in the New Years Classic in Fort Lauderdale on January 6 and 7 (opponents to be announced soon). The next tournament will be at the St. James MLK Classic in Washington, DC on January 14 and 15 (opponents to be announced soon). The other tournament will be played at the Big Hoops Shootout in the northeast. MVA will play at Long Island Lutheran in Glen Head, New York on January 20 and at Morris Catholic in Denville, New Jersey on January 21. MVA will also have a game on the road against a team to be determined on December 16.
