The Montverde Academy boys' basketball team improved to 5-1 overall this season after a 64-41 win over Bishop Walsh in day one of the Bob Kirk Invitational Showcase in Cumberland, Maryland on Thursday evening.
The Eagles were led by Liam McNeeley who had a game-high 21 points, including five three point baskets, to go along with seven rebounds. Meanwhile Derik Queen added 11 points off the bench on 5-for-7 shooting, with a game-high eight rebounds. Kwame Evans had a game-high five steals.
Montverde Academy led 16-12 after the first quarter and were up 27-19 at halftime.
The Eagles are back in action on Friday when they take on Oak Hill Academy for day two of the Bob Kirk Invitational Showcase at 8:00 pm.
