The Montverde Academy boys' basketball team completed the three game sweep by beating Sunrise Christian 88-39 in day three of the Nike EYBL Scholastic Sunshine Classic on Saturday evening at the Nest.

The Eagles raced out to a 22-11 lead by the end of the first quarter and held a 41-19 lead at halftime. MVA held a major advantage in multiple facts of the game, including a 25-0 advantage in points off turnovers, 58-20 advantage on points in the paint and 10-0 on fastbreak points. The Eagles also held a 38-18 advantage in rebounding.

Five players scored in double figures, led by Liam McNeeley with 16 points, followed by Derik Queen with 14, Asa Newell with 12, Cooper Flagg with 12 (and a game-high 12 rebounds) and Robert Wright with 11 (and a game-high six assists).

MVA is now 7-0 on the season and return to action for The Nike Event on December 8 and 9 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Eagles will play Link Academy on Friday and AZ Compass on Saturday.
