Logan Bevis pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out 11 batters over six innings to help the Montverde Academy baseball team to a 9-1 win over Lake Nona at Lindor Field on Thursday.

The Eagles are now 14-1 overall this season.

AJ Goytia had two hits, two walks and two runs to help on the offensive side, while Justin Orridge added three RBIs. in the win.

"We've been preparing for every game differently this season, one step at a time to make us the best we can be to be in position to beat these good teams," head coach Victor Valencia said.

The Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the first to set the tempo as MVA led from start to finish as the Eagles avenged last season's 6-5 loss at Lake Nona.

"This was a good group of hitters we went up against, and they beat us last year and bragged about it so I wanted to show them we can beat them," Bevis said after the game.

Montverde Academy returns to action on Tuesday April 4 for a game at Osceola High School at 6:00 pm
