Playing at home for the first time since December 2, the Montverde Academy boys' basketball team pleased the home crowd with a big win as the Eagles defeated DME Academy 76-31 in the Nest on Saturday evening.
MVA had four players score in double figures in the win. Caleb Gaskins and Derik Queen had a team co-high of 15 points in the win. Gaskins shot 7-for-12 from the floor, while Queen had his third double-double of the season by adding a season-high 14 rebounds in the win. Cooper Flagg had 14 points and nine rebounds, while Kayden Allen had 10 points.
MVA shot 46 percent from the field (31-for-67) and limited DME to 22 percent from the field (12-for-54).
The Eagles dominated on the boards, holding a 46-28 advantage.
The win improved the Eagles to 19-0 overall this season.
The Eagles return to action on Thursday for the first day of the annual Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament (MAIT) against Imani Christian Academy at 7:00 pm.
