It was over just minutes into the contest!
The Montverde Academy boys basketball used its athleticism, quick passing and high pressure defense to open the game on a 23-2 run and the Eagles cruised from there as Montverde Academy defeated Jordan Christian Prep 106-40 Tuesday evening in its first of two preseason games at the Nest.
The Eagles' 23-2 run led to a 29-10 lead by the end of the first quarter. Then a 31-11 second quarter spurt swelled the Eagles' lead to 60-21 by halftime.
Montverde Academy then outscored Jordan Christian Prep 29-9 in the third quarter before moving to a running clock in the fourth quarter.
The Eagles had balanced scoring, led by Hudson Greer with 16 points, followed by Trent Sisley with 14. Fellow teammates, CJ Ingram, Kayden Allen, Dante Allen and Hakeem Weems had 12 each.
Montverde Academy has one more preseason game before the start of the regular season, and the Eagles will host Specially Fit Academy on Thursday at 8:00 pm.
