The Montverde Academy boys' basketball team is now just two games away from an undefeated regular season!

The Eagles improved to 28-0 on the season after a 70-44 win over Legacy Early College in day two of the 2024 Bob McKillop Invitational at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

As has been the case in many games this season, the Eagles led from the outset, never trailing in the contest.

MVA raced out to a 19-6 lead after the first quarter, and the Eagles established a 40-19 lead by halftime, en route to the win.

Derik Queen led the way with a double-double of 14 points, 16 rebounds and five assists, while Asa Newell added 14 points and eight rebounds.

MVA returns to action for its final two games of the 2023-24 regular season on Thursday, February 29 and Saturday, March 2 for the Pete Hollis Showcase in Greenville, South Carolina. The Eagles take on Veritas Prep at 8:00 pm on the first night, before their regular season finale against Orangeville Prep on March 2 at 4:00 pm.
