The Montverde Academy boys' basketball team defeated St. Rose High School 84-55 on day three of the Metro Classic in Franklin Township, New Jersey on Saturday night.
With the win, the Eagles are now 24-0 on the season.
MVA led from start to finish in the win. The Eagles led 15-12 after the first quarter, before a decisive 26-9 outpouring during the second quarter gave them a comfortable 41-21 lead by halftime.
Cooper Flagg had a team-high 28 points, to go along with seven rebounds, five assists and four blocked shots. Meanwhile Derik Queen had a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds, along with five assists and four steals. Robert Wright added 15 points, five rebounds and four assists in the win.
Once again, MVA held an overwhelming advantage on points in the paint with a 62-26 total. The Eagles also shot a blazing 61.4 percent (35-for-57) from the floor in the win.
MVA is back in action on Friday, February 9 for a game against Whitehaven High School on day one of the Winter Classic in Bartlett, Tennessee at 8:00 pm Eastern Time (7:00 pm Central Time).
