Montverde, Fla. (March 9, 2024)— Upon the naming of the 2024 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Girls' High School All American teams, Montverde Academy's Jaloni Cambridge has been named a Naismith first team All-American for the 2023-24 girls' high school basketball season.

Cambridge had a spectacular regular season with MVA, leading the Eagles to a 21-4 overall record.

The 5-7 explosive guard averaged 20.4 points and 6.6 rebounds. But most impressively is her 8.4 assists per game, which is eighth highest average in high school basketball in the United States this season and the overall highest in the state of Florida.

She had two triple doubles this season, including a 19 point, 10 rebound, 13 assist performance in a win over Mainland High School on November 27 and a 12 point, 11 rebound, 10 assist game against Wesleyan on January 15.

Cambridge had double-figures in assists in eight games this season, and had a season-high 15 assists twice, once in a game against Fort Erie International on November 29 and the other against Sidwell Friends on February 17.

Currently, MVA is ranked ninth in the nation in the latest MaxPreps.com poll and second in the state of Florida.

The Eagles will now await an expected bid into the 2024 Chipotle High School Nationals in Brownsburg, Indiana (just outside Indianapolis) for April 4 – 6 for a chance at their third consecutive national championship.
