The Montverde Academy softball team earned its eighth shutout of the season and fourteenth win overall as the Eagles defeated Bishop Moore Catholic 10-0 at the MVA Softball Complex on Wednesday afternoon.
The win was the Eagles' sixth in a row as MVA is now 14-3 overall on the season.
The Eagles pounded out 12 hits, with five of them going for extra bases.
Leila Susaia was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run and a run batted in, while Danika Spinogatti was 1-for-1 with a double. Luna Taboas went 3-for-4 with a triple, a run and two runs batted in. Elena Friedman was 1-for-3 with a triple and run batted in. Ari Jimenez added three hits, while going 3-for-4 with two runs and a run batted in.
Emerson Gunkel pitched 5.0 innings and allowed no runs on three hits and four strikeouts.
MVA returns to the diamond on Monday April 1 for a game at Lake Mary High School at 6:00 pm.
