The Montverde Academy softball team is moving on in the postseason after a 7-0 victory over Keystone Heights in the quarterfinal round of the 2026 FHSAA Class 2A Region 2 Championship on Wednesday evening at the MVA Softball Complex.
With the win, the Eagles advance to the regional semifinal round where they will host Cornerstone Charter Academy on Tuesday, May 12.
MVA controlled the game from the start, steadily building its lead throughout the evening. The Eagles plated one run in the first inning before adding another in the third, fourth, and fifth innings to take a 4-0 advantage through five innings. MVA then broke the game open in the bottom of the sixth with three additional runs to secure the victory.
Offensively, Colby Reish paced the Eagles with a standout performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double, a run and three RBIs. Elena Friedman added a strong showing of her own, finishing 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Audrey Vivino contributed offensively as well, going 1-for-2 with a double, a run, and an RBI.
In the circle, Missy Odom delivered a dominant complete-game performance. She pitched all seven innings and allowed no runs on five hits while striking out 12 batters and issuing no walks.
