The Montverde Academy softball team lost at Lake Brantley High School 6-1 on Tuesday evening.
The loss was just the second of the season for the Eagles who are now 6-2 overall on the season.
After a scoreless tie over the first four innings, the Eagles scored in the top of the fifth on a solo home run by Colby Reish. But the host Patriots scored six runs in the bottom half to take the lead and win the game.
Reish was the lone Eagle to get multiple hits as she went 2-for-3 on the day, while Ari Jimenez, Leila Susaia and Danika Spinogatti had one hit each.
MVA is back in action on Friday for a game against Plant City in day one of the Bartow Home of Champions tournament at 6:00 pm.
