Montverde Academy baseball closed out its 2024 regular season with a 6-0 loss at home to MVP Baseball Academy on Friday afternoon.
The Eagles were limited to three hits, with two of them off the bat of Arnaldo Gonzalez who was 2-for-3. Angel Pernia got MVA's other hit and was 1-for-2.Â
MVA used five pitchers over the seven innings, and combined to give up the six runs with all of them unearned. Gonzalez suffered the loss after going 2.0 innings and allowing an unearned run on two hits.
The Eagles end their regular season with a 12-8 overall record and are back in action for the quarterfinal round of the 2024 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 3A District tournament. MVA is the No. 1 seed and will host No.8 seed Crooms Academy, Monday at 6:00 pm
