The Montverde Academy girls volleyball team secured a convincing 3-1 win over South Lake High School on Tuesday evening at The Nest. The victory, which saw set scores of 25-16, 25-12, 21-25, and 25-17, improves the Eagles' overall record to 6-3 this season.
Isabella Parra orchestrated the offense, notching up 25 assists and contributing five service aces. Teammate Kristina Vargas also played a key role, delivering two service aces and 20 assists.
Evy DeClercq was a force at the net, registering a team-high six blocks and nine kills. Her defensive presence and offensive contributions were instrumental in keeping South Lake from gaining any sustainable momentum.
Mirea Thederahn had a standout game with seven service aces, a match-high 10 kills and three blocks.
Jayla Forbes and Natalia Baquerizo also made their mark, with Forbes adding five kills and three blocks, and Baquerizo contributing five kills and three digs.
The team's next challenge awaits them on Thursday as they travel to The First Academy for a 6:30 pm showdown.
