For the fourth time this season, the Montverde Academy girls volleyball team played to a fifth set. And for the fourth time this season, the team earned the win in the fifth set.

Natalia Baquerizo had a team-high 16 kills, along with 10 digs and seven blocks to propel the Eagles to a win over The First Academy on Thursday evening in Orlando.

In a time match all the way though, the scores were 23-25, 25-18, 26-24, 23-25, 15-9. Montverde Academy is now 7-3 overall this season.

Mirea Thederahn added 12 kills, 17 digs, two blocks and two service aces, while Bianca Baquerizo added 13 kills and three blocks. Evy DeClercq had 12 kills and seven blocks in the win.Amelie Jenkins added a team-high 12 blocks, along with six kills, three service aces and five digs.

The Eagles return to the court on Tuesday, September 24 for a match at Orangewood Chrisitian at 7:00 pm.

*Earlier in the evening, the junior varsity team kept its undefeated season in tact as the Eagles beat the junior varsity team from The First Academy 2-0 (26-24, 25-22). The JV team is now 10-0 on the season
