The Montverde Academy girls basketball team secured a 80-59 victory in a highly competitive matchup against nationally ranked #5 Bradley Central (Cleveland, TN) Friday afternoon at The Nest.
Saniyah Hall and Aaliyah Crump led the team in scoring with 18 points and 17 points respectively Â
The first quarter was dominated by Bradley Christian after they got off to a hot start , taking a nine-point lead minutes into the game. Slowly, the Eagles were able to get some points back and went into the second quarter down 15-12.
By the end of the half, the momentum of the game had completely shifted with big shots from Amaia Jackson and Bailey Breen in the second quarter allowed the Eagles to take command and go into halftime up 35-26.
The third quarter saw more of the same from the Eagles. This time with Hall and Crump combining for a total of 20 points (10 each).Â
Montverde Academy finished the game strong in the fourth quarter, putting up another 13 points to seal the victory.Â
"I'm glad I had a good performance, but I couldn't do it without them and I'm just really proud of our team," Crump said after the game.
With the win, Montverde Academy handed #5 Bradley Central its first defeat of the season, ending their 18 game win streak.Â
The win moves the Eagles to 14-1 andreturn to the court on Saturday for a game against Family Faith Academy at 4:00 pm
