Montverde Academy girls soccer opened the Mississippi Showcase in dominant fashion on Thursday night, rolling to a 5–0 victory over Ocean Springs in Perkinston.

Lola Rey led the way with a brace, while Alessandra Jimenez, Caroline Ritchey, and Dominika Misuthova each added a goal to round out the Eagles' balanced offensive performance. On the other end of the field, MVA's defense was stellar, holding Ocean Springs without a single shot on goal. Starting goalkeeper Alyssa Strausbaugh did not record a save thanks to the back line's complete control from start to finish.

With the victory, Montverde Academy improves to 5-0-1 on the year.

The Eagles return to action on Friday for day two of the tournament, taking on Northwest Rankin at 6:00 PM ET.
