The Montverde Academy boys basketball team opened its 2025–26 season on Friday evening at the Miami Tip-off, falling 79–57 to Southeastern Prep.
Despite the loss, the Eagles saw strong individual performances, led by Oneal Delancy, who came off the bench to score a team-high 14 points. Derek Daniels added 10 points and eight rebounds, while Dhani Miller contributed 11 points to go along with two steals and two assists. Joe Philon III finished with eight points and six rebounds.
MVA also controlled the ball and held an overwhelming 18-1 advantage on points off turnovers. The Eagles committed just five turnovers, compared to 13 by the Falcoms.
The Eagles returns to action on Friday, December 5, when they host Nike EYBL Scholastic foe Wasatch Academy at 7:30 p.m. in day one of the 2025 Nike EYBL Scholastic Sunshine Classic. The matchup will serve as MVA's regular-season home opener.
