Danati Fronduto went 3-4 with a double, two runs and a rub batted in to help Montverde Academy baseball to a 6-4 win over Lake Highland Prep on Thursday at Francisco Lindor Field Thursday evening.
The win was the eighth in a row for Motverde Academy who are now 12-4 on the season.
The visting Highlanders scored two runs in the top of the first to take the early lead before MVA platted three runs to make the score 3-2 in the bottom of the second. Jovansky Velez singled to score a run and Angel Pernia doubled, scoring two more to put the Eagles ahead by one.
Lake Highland Prep scored a run in the top of the third to tie the score and another run in the top of the fourth to retake the lead before MVA had its second three run inning of the game in the bottom of the fifth. Fronduto doubled to center field, Max Irving hit a sacrifice fly, and Velez doubled down the left field line to score a run each and put the Eagles up 6-4.
Ming-Han Kuo earned the win for the Eagles. The reliever allowed just one hit adn struck out two over two and two-thirds innings. Sid Goecke started the game for MVA and gave up four runs (three earned) over four and one-third innings, while striking out three.
The Eagles will look to extend their winning streat to nine next week when they return to action against The Benjamin School on Tuesday at 4:30 pm.
