Montverde Academy had a 9-0 lead before even taking the field!
The Eagles scored nine runs in the top of the first inning to take complete control of the game as they went on to win 17-0 at The First Academy on Wednesday in a game that lasted just three innings.
MVA scored another run in the top of the second, before scoring seven more runs in the top of the third to lead 17-0 and win via the 15-run three inning mercy rule.
The Eagles pounded out 11 hits in the win. Miranda Murch and Danika Spinogatti both hit home runs for MVA. Murch added a team-high four runs batted in, while Spinogatti had two, and now has 93 in her MVA career, leaving her just seven shy of becoming the first player in MVA softball history to record 100 in a career.
Fellow teammates Addie Poe, Colby Reish and Luna Taboas added two hits each and two runs each. Poe had a double and a run batted in, while Reish drove in three runs.Â
Nevaeh Williams pitched another no-hitter in the shortened game, facing one over the minimum and striking out seven.
MVA is back in action on Friday for a home game against Lake Brantley at 5:30 pm.
