The Montverde Academy girls' track and field team delivered a dominant performance at the Royal Invitational hosted by The First Academy on March 8, 2025, finishing first out of 19 teams. The boys' team also had an impressive showing, securing second place out of 21 teams.

Girls' Team Highlights:

• 100 Meters: Sophomore Dasia Reed took first place with a time of 11.61 seconds.

• 200 Meters: Junior Nakira Hudson secured the top spot with a time of 24.40 seconds.

• Pole Vault: Eighth grader Kylee Brown cleared 3.50 meters to win the event.

• 4x100 Meters Relay: The team, comprising of Sofia Regazzi, Nakira Hudson, Arima Turner and Dasia Reed, won with a time of 47.85 seconds.

• 4x400 Meters Relay: The quartet of Arima Turner, Sofia Regazzi, Ellise Dickinson and Lexi Frasers secured another relay victory with a time of 3:52.47.

Additional strong performances included Junior Ellise Dickinson finishing second in the 400 meters (58.69 seconds), Freshman Lyla McMillen placing third in the 800 meters (2:41.77), and Seventh-grader Alafair Scelfo taking fourth in the 1600 meters (5:17.95).

Boys' Team Highlights:

• 200 Meters: Junior Miles Outerbridge sprinted to victory in 21.57 seconds.

• 400 Meters: Senior Ayden Henley dominated with a first-place time of 46.95 seconds.

• 800 Meters: Senior Lucas Coan took the top spot with a time of 1:55.88.

• 1600 Meters: Sophomore Will Moss won with a time of 4:24.75.

• Pole Vault: Junior Grant Williams secured victory by clearing 4.24 meters.

• 4x800 Meters Relay: The team, consisting of Kamron Brown, Jackson Balls, Lucas Coan, and Will Moss, won the event with a time of 8:04.42.

Moss also secured second place in the 3200 meters (9:25.17), adding to the team's overall success.

The Eagles return to the track next weekend for the New Balance Indoor Nationals in Boston, Massachusetts.
