The Montverde Academy softball team earned a 6-1 win at home against Bloomingdate High School on Thursday evening.
Luna Taboas and Addie Poe had two hits each in the win. Taboas went 2-for-3 overall with a double and two runs, while Poe had a double and two runs batted in. Colby Reish went 1-for-3 with a double and two runs, while Audrey Vivino was 1-for-3 with a run batted in.
The visiting Bulls took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a solo home run, before the Eagles tied it in the bottom half.
MVA exploded for four runs in the second inning to lead 5-1. Then the Eagles scored again in the bottom of the fourth to make the 6-1 en route to the victory.
Nevaeh Williams pitched a complete game, allowing one run on three hits, walking just one and striking out 13.
MVA is now 19-2 on the season and return to the field on Monday for a home game against Lake Mary High School at 6:00 pm.
