Montverde Academy softball earned its twentieth win of the season after earning a 5-3 win over Inspiration Academy in Bradenton on Monday evening.
MVA is now 20-2 overall this season, and the Eagles have won atleast 20 games for the third year in a row.
In the win over Inspiration Academy, MVA led from start to finish. The Eagles scored a run in the top of the first to lead 1-0, before scoring twice more in the top of the fourth to lead 3-0.
The host Lions scored runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth to edge closer. But MVA added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh to lead 5-2, en route to the road win.
Addie Poe went 1-for-3 with a home run in the win, while Luna Taboas was 1-for-3 with a pair of runs. Miranda Murch, Leila Susaia and Brianna Kennedy also had hits for the Eagles.
La'Breah Sands earned the win in the pitching circle after going 7.0 innings and allowing three runs on four hits while striking out 10.
The Eagles return to the field on Tuesday for a game at Foundation Academy at 6:30 pm.
