SIMA Alumni Take Center Stage in Clemson vs. VCU Showdown

Last night, a familiar bond was on full display when Clemson faced VCU in a thrilling college soccer matchup. Seven SIMA alumni came together after the final whistle for a memorable photo, capturing the shared roots and journey that connect these players across two top Division I programs.

For Clemson, the Tigers' roster featured four SIMA alumni: Caleb George, Abdou Mane, and Augustine Asante all contributed to Clemson's depth and presence on the field, while goalkeeper Joseph Andema anchored the defense with a full 90-minute performance. Forward Wahabu Musah brought energy and skill to the attack, scoring Clemson's lone goal in a strong display of his growing influence. Though Misei Yoshizawa logged 45 minutes in midfield, he wasn't present for the postgame alumni photo, but his contribution remains a key part of Clemson's connection to SIMA.

Across the field, VCU showcased the talents of two SIMA alumni. Midfielder Mohammed Ibrahim played all 90 minutes and found the back of the net, driving the Rams' performance, while Parker Simkins contributed throughout the game, continuing his development at the collegiate level. Adding to the connection between SIMA and VCU, former SIMA coach Carlos Pedraza now serves as an assistant coach for the Rams, bringing his experience developing top-level players to the program and helping guide SIMA alumni like Ibrahim and Simkins to success.

The postgame gathering of seven alumni highlighted the impact of SIMA as a launching pad for top-tier college soccer talent. Whether wearing Clemson's orange or VCU's black and gold, these players exemplify the academy's commitment to developing athletes who excel both on and off the field.

Beyond the goals, saves, and minutes logged, the night was a celebration of connection and pride, proof that the SIMA community continues to thrive at the highest levels of college soccer.
