Montverde, Fla. (September 30, 2025) – Montverde Academy is proud to announce that boys swim team member Zac Holmes has been named the school's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 28, 2025.

Holmes had a standout performance as Montverde Academy dominated a home tri-meet against Lake Minneola High School and South Lake High School last Friday (September 26). He won all four events he was entered in, including a personal best and pool record in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 52.05 seconds. He also captured the 100-meter backstroke in 1:00.20 and contributed to a pair of victorious relay teams. His squad set a pool record in the 400-meter freestyle relay with a time of 3:35.46 and he was part of the 200-meter freestyle relay team which won in 1:36.33.

Off the pool deck, Holmes is an active member of the Black Student Union, Caribbean Student Union, and Investment Club. Holmes says he loves the school for its abundance of academic and athletic opportunities and praises the faculty and staff for their support.

Holmes aspires to pursue a career in finance, demonstrating the same dedication and discipline in the classroom as he does in competition.

Holmes and the Eagles return to the pool this weekend for the prestigious Florida Swim Pool Association (FSPA) Meet in Ocala.
